My Book Boyfriend (#1): Conrad Fisher

UPDATE: 7/21/12: PHOTOS OF WHO I PICTURED AS CONRAD FINISHER HAVE BEEN REMOVED.
My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by Missie at The Unread Reader. This meme is basically an opportunity to obsess over some of our favorite book boyfriends every week. If you want to participate just head over to Missie's blog and link your post!

This weeks pick: Conrad Fisher from the Summer series by Jenny Han
The Summer I Turned Pretty (#1)! It's Not Summer Without You (#2). We'll Always Have Summer (#3)

Description:
"Conrad was the older one by a year and a half. He was dark, dark, dark, dark. Completely unattainable, unavailable. He had a smirky kind of mouth, and I always found myself staring at it. Smirky mouths make you want to kiss them, to smooth them out and kiss the smirkiness away." - The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Why I love Conrad Fisher:
Okay. From the first book in the series I knew I was going to be Team Conrad. He goes through so much throughout the course of the series. His mom gets diagnosed with cancer, eventually dies, and then he has to watch the girl he loves be with another guy. And not just any guy his brother! All because of a few mistakes he had made. There's just something so perfect yet flawed about him and you can't help but love him as a character. As a reader I might be a little biased about him because it's obvious from the beginning of the series that Belly's completely in love with him and we see him through her eyes so yeah.

Favorite Moments / Quotes:
Conrad's my favorite.
“He called out, “I still love you.”
I froze. And then slowly, I turned around to look at him. “Don’t say that.”
He took a step closer. “I don’t know if I’ll ever get you out of my system, not completely. I have … this feeling.
That you’ll always be there. Here.” Conrad clawed at his heart and then dropped his hand.” - We'll Always Have Summer

“I love Jere more than anybody. He’s my brother, my family. I hate myself for doing this. But when I see you two together, I hate him too.” His voice broke.
“Don’t marry him. Don’t be with him. Be with me.” - We'll Always Have Summer

Let's test it out," Conrad said, and he went and bought me another peach. I ate that one in four bites." Was it as good?" he asked me.
"Yeah. It was."
Conrad reached out and wiped my chin with his shirt.  It was maybe the most intimate thing anyone had ever done to me.
I felt light headed, unsteady on my feet.
It was all in the way he looked at me, just those few seconds. - We'll Always Have Summer

“I love Jere more than anybody. He’s my brother, my family. I hate myself for doing this. But when I see you two together, I hate him too.” His voice broke. “Don’t marry him. Don’t be with him. Be with me.” - We'll Always Have Summer

The actor I chose to portray Conrad is Beau Mirchoff! This isn't an original idea for who to play Conrad Fisher. I read somewhere before even reading the series about how someone pictures this guy as Conrad so I've had it stuck in my head since.

What do you think?
Have you read the Summer series?
Either way I'd like to know what you think of Conrad?

  4. I was team Jeremiah in the first and second book, but in the third i switched to team Conrad. Jeremiah became kind of a total jerk in my opinion... To anyone who's read it, i'm sure you know why i say that ;P

    1. Ohh. I was team Conrad throughout the whole series. I never really understood the appeal towards Jeremiah, and the third book kind of proved that...
